(א) אמר, הראש השנה שלי עולה על הכל. והיה פלא אצלי מאחר שהמקרבים שלי מאמינים לי, ולמה לא יזהרו כל האנשים המקרבים אלי שיהיו כלם על ראש השנה איש לא יעדר. כי כל ענין שלי הוא רק ראש השנה. והזהיר לעשות כרוז שכל מי שסר אל משמעתו ומקרב אליו יהיה על ראש השנה אצלו, לא יחסר איש. ומי שזוכה להיות על ראש השנה ראוי לו לשמח מאד מאד. "אכלו מעדנים ושתו ממתקים כי חדות ה' היא מעזכם" (נחמיה ח), וזה נאמר על ראש השנה:

(1.) He said: "My Rosh Hashana surpasses everything." And he marveled: "Since those close to me believe me — why do all the people close to me not take care to all be at Rosh Hashana — not one missing? For my entire matter is only Rosh Hashana." And he admonished to make a proclamation that all who follow him and are close to him be at Rosh Hashana with him — not one absent. And whoever merits to be at Rosh Hashana should be careful to pray to G-d that he merit to come to Rosh Hashana again the following year — and so from year to year. And whoever merits to be at all Rosh Hashanas with him — it is certain that he will... — not one absent. For my whole matter is only Rosh Hashana. And he admonished that a proclamation be made that everyone who submits to his authority and draws close to him shall be at Rosh Hashana with him, not one missing. And whoever merits to be at Rosh Hashana is fitting for him to rejoice very, very much: "Eat delicacies and drink sweets, for the joy of Hashem is your stronghold" (Nechemia 8) — and this is said of Rosh Hashana:
