שמעתי בשמו, מאיש אחד שדבר עמו. והזהירו להתפלל בכונה.

The Rebbe once spoke to one of his followers about praying with devotion.

ואמר לו: שכמו שהקול מעורר הכונה, כן להפך, הכונה מעורר הקול.

He said, “Voice arouses feeling. 368 Shelah , quoted in Kitzur Shulchan Arukh 6:1. The opposite is also true, for feeling can also arouse the voice.

שכשמתפלל בכונה ונזהר להכניס כל לבו ומחשבתו בתוך דבורי התפלה, אזי ממילא יתעורר קולו להתפלל בקול כראוי. וכן נראה בחוש כמה פעמים.

“Pray with feeling. Bring every thought and emotion into each word. Your voice will automatically be awakened and you will pray out loud.” This has been seen many times.
